On October 23 2026, the Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce joined Metropolitan Bank to celebrate the grand opening of its new Oakland Chinatown branch! Founded in Oakland Chinatown in 1983, Metropolitan Bank has a longstanding commitment to serving the Chinese and Asian community as a community bank dedicated to helping individuals, families, and businesses build financial stability and achieve financial freedom.
Thank you to Mayor Barbara Lee, District 2 Councilmember Charlene Wang, Oakland Police Department Captain Steve Toribio, Maggie Chan of Alameda County Assessor Phong La Office, Betsy Jacobo of California State Assemblymember Mia Bonta’s District 18 office, Metropolitan Bank CEO Henry Kiang, Oakland Chinatown Branch Manager Jessica Chen, and Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce President Stephanie Tran for joining us in celebrating this milestone.
