💰 What is it?

Verizon, in partnership with LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation), is offering $10,000 grants to small businesses throughout 2026. They will select 10 businesses each month from June through December, for a total of up to 70 grants.

✅ Who is eligible?

The business must:

• Be a for-profit small business
• Be located in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands
• Have an owner who is 18+
• Have an account on Verizon Small Business Digital Ready
• Complete 2 eligible free courses or events on the platform between January 1 and December 7, 2026
• Be able to provide business/financial documentation if selected, such as a W-9 and banking information.

Nonprofits are not eligible. Owners with multiple businesses can apply for one business only.

📝 How to apply

1. Create a Verizon Small Business Digital Ready account.
2. Complete any combination of 2 eligible courses or events.
3. Completing those requirements unlocks the grant application.
4. Submit one application anytime in 2026.
5. Your application stays eligible for the remaining monthly grant selections—you do not need to reapply every month.

The application itself is expected to take 30 minutes or less.

🎯 How are winners selected?

LISC uses several steps:

• An initial anonymous drawing gives applicants an equal chance.
• An algorithm may then balance the pool by industry and geography.
• Priority is given to businesses in under-resourced / low-to-moderate income communities.
• Selected applications undergo additional review for accuracy, community impact, and proposed use of funds.
• Finalists must verify their business and financial information.

Being selected as a finalist does not automatically guarantee the $10,000.

📅 Important dates

If you're not selected one month, your application continues to be considered for the following months.

💵 Do you have to pay it back?

No. The grant does not need to be repaid. However, the grant is taxable, and LISC will issue a 1099.
